Stories and updates from life inside Station Bay.
Station Bay's September calendar listed food trucks throughout the month, from King of the Wings on September 2 to Harry's Lil Kitchen on September 30. Alongside those listings, our community platform, Cobu, filled up with marketplace listings, local recommendations, and neighbors helping each other with everything from moving boxes to a shared pool noodle. Here is a look back at the month.
Food truck visits were a recurring theme in the September calendar. The Wednesday listings offered dinner options on site, including The Baked Bear on September 16. The SIRV Mobile Barbershop listing described skin fades, gentleman cuts, hot towel shaves and a free haircut raffle.
Away from the events, the biggest theme was neighbors sharing practical knowledge. New residents asked where to go, what to buy, and who to call, and longtime residents answered generously. One resident who has lived at Station Bay for two years welcomed a newcomer with a full rundown of local spots and reminded them about the on-site amenities like the ping pong table and golf simulator.
The September calendar included:
The listings offered on-site dinner options and barbering services. Residents can check Cobu for current visits and service details.
The marketplace was easily the busiest corner of Cobu. Listings included a queen hybrid mattress with box spring, a king bed frame, barstools, vinyl records, wall art, a TV stand, women's shoes, and two Jets tickets. Free items appeared often too, from a kids toy shelf and a light green king bedsheet set left in the lobby to a nighttime supplement.
The homemade sourdough post stood out. One resident offered loaves, cookies, and even starters, and neighbors replied asking to order. Recommendations came up constantly as well. A new resident asking about internet got several answers pointing to Verizon, while another resident said Optimum worked fine for them. Others swapped names of cleaning services and a mobile dog groomer. There were plenty of warm welcomes for new faces, and one resident thanked a neighbor for honoring the country on September 11.
Station Bay's resident groups reflect the mix of interests here. The Local Restaurants group invites neighbors to share dining spots within 35 miles, and the Dog Group organizes walks, dog park trips, and puppy play dates. The Nature at Station Bay group had a fitting moment this month when a resident noted the Monarch butterflies visiting the property. The Business Networking and South Amboy Community Engagement groups both focus on connecting residents with local initiatives, and one resident used that spirit to invite neighbors to meet local candidates at Munkee.
Residents shared a long list of nearby places in September. For the outdoors, neighbors mentioned the Raritan Bay Waterfront park for evening walks, Paul's Beach, Keyport, Sandy Hook, Seaside Heights, and Cape May. For a night out, suggestions on Broadway included Blue Moon, Raise The Bar, South Stevens Pub, and Monaghan House. For nail salons, residents pointed to Shadow Nails in Parlin, Blink Nails in Woodbridge, and The Nail Atelier in Farmingdale.
This month showed a community that leans on each other. Residents answered questions quickly, passed along free items, and welcomed newcomers by name. The marketplace activity and the event listings point to people who are comfortable connecting with their neighbors. If you want to picture daily life here, this kind of back-and-forth is a good window into it. You can also browse our B26-A floor plan for details about that layout.
With food trucks, local tips, and an active marketplace, there are plenty of ways to get involved at Station Bay. Keep an eye on Cobu for upcoming events, and if you are considering a move, view virtual tours to explore it online.
Station Bay is a waterfront apartment community in South Amboy, New Jersey, set right along the Raritan Bay near the train station and an emerging ferry terminal. This is a remarkably active community and neighborhood.
The clearest proof is in the conversations that occur in our online community platform. Over the past year, residents posted more than 2,700 messages to one another, covering local recommendations, lost items, dog park updates, event planning, and small acts of kindness. On top of that, residents have created more than 40 interest groups, which is an extraordinary number and a sign of just how many ways there are to connect here.
If you want to know what it is actually like to live at Station Bay, the honest answer is that you would be joining a busy, well established community with a strong waterfront identity and neighbors who genuinely engage with one another every day.
Daily life at Station Bay runs on a current of small, helpful interactions. The community platform has a Lost and Found group with 155 members, and it is constantly in use. When someone leaves earbuds in the gym, a sweater on a treadmill, or a phone at the lobby bar, a neighbor almost always posts about it and drops the item at the coffee machine or the leasing office so it finds its way home. That habit of looking out for each other is everywhere here.
Generosity shows up in fun ways too. Residents leave free dog treats at the lobby bar for neighbors' pups, set out New Year's party favors by the coffee station for anyone to grab, and pass along extra goodies. One resident posted a delighted thank you after a neighbor left a coffee themed surprise on their car, just because. Another resident's homemade baked goods, including a carrot cake and banana bread, earned glowing public praise from neighbors who called them top notch.
People help with practical things constantly. Residents ask for and recommend reliable cleaning services, dry cleaners, and local resources, sharing specific names so the next neighbor benefits. The resident Marketplace, with 432 members, keeps a steady stream of items moving between neighbors.
There is also a strong sense of shared ownership over the community's outdoor life, especially the dog park, which the 117 member Dog Group follows closely. Together, all of these everyday moments make Station Bay feel like a real, connected place rather than just a large building.
Station Bay runs one of the fullest event calendars around, and turnout is impressive. The Summer BBQ led the way with 64 RSVPs. A Pretzel Pop-Up drew 59, the Holiday Party brought in 54, and a Super Bowl pre game event pulled 43. A Forever Bracelet Making class drew 40 RSVPs, and a Valentine's themed Cupid's Bloom Cart drew 39.
The variety is part of the appeal. Residents have gathered for a St. Patrick's Day Dinner Party with 31 RSVPs, a Western Party with 30, an Earth Day celebration with 27, and a Halloween costume party with 25. Seasonal favorites like Trick or Treat events round out the year, and there is a regular rotation of food truck nights featuring vendors like Brooklyn's Famous Pizza, Kielbasa N More, and Mike Makes Grill. For routine, residents can count on recurring Yoga Sculpt Saturdays.
What the calendar reveals is a community with momentum. Between the big parties, the food trucks, the wellness sessions, and the interest group meetups, there is almost always something to do.
The daily conversation at Station Bay reflects a community that loves where it lives, especially the waterfront.
The Raritan Bay Waterfront Park comes up again and again. Residents share it as a place to walk and run, recommend it as a prime spot to watch fireworks, and pass along news of events held there, including a free New Jersey Symphony concert and the annual South Amboy Day celebration. One neighbor even helped a newcomer map out a running route to the park. The bay, the lighthouse views, and the nearby ferry and train station are clearly part of the appeal of living here.
Pets are another major theme. The dog park is a frequent topic, and the large Dog Group keeps owners connected. Food and local services are constant too, with residents recommending nearby restaurants, dry cleaners like Kimber on Broadway, and trusted cleaning services. Neighbors also share local happenings, from a live music series at the South Amboy Train Station to a fire company car show on Broadway, which keeps everyone plugged into the wider South Amboy community.
Station Bay has more than 40 interest groups, an unusually deep lineup that reflects how many different ways residents connect. Some of the most active include:
At Station Bay, the neighborhood guide is written by residents, and it centers on the waterfront. The Raritan Bay Waterfront Park is the clear favorite, recommended repeatedly for walks, runs, sunset views, fireworks, and community events like South Amboy Day and a free New Jersey Symphony concert. Broadway is the other anchor of local life. Residents point neighbors there for the South Amboy Train Station, a summer live music series, a local fire company car show, and practical needs like Kimber Dry Cleaners. For groceries and errands, residents reference a nearby ShopRite, and for getting around, they regularly discuss the South Amboy train and the ferry service to and from the city.
Based entirely on how residents live and interact, Station Bay reads as a large and genuinely connected community. The signals are strong. More than 2,700 resident messages in the past year on the community platform, more than 40 interest groups, a 155 member Lost and Found group, a 432 member Marketplace, and events that regularly draw 40, 50, and 60 plus RSVPs.
The everyday quality of life shows in how neighbors treat each other. They return lost items, leave free treats and surprises, recommend trusted local services, and rally around the waterfront they clearly love. The sheer breadth of interest groups means there is room for almost anyone to find their crowd.
The best way to understand life at Station Bay is to visit and take in the waterfront setting yourself. Schedule a tour to walk the community, see the amenity spaces where residents gather, and meet our team.
